White Acacia

Every other year, towards the end of May the White Acacia festival is held to coincide with blooming of the acacia trees. For two weeks, well-known musicians from Ukraine, Russia, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Moldova, the USA and other countries perform operas, concerts and operettas, including classical, jazz and pop music. The famous Russian viola player Yuri Bashmet and the Moscow Chamber Orchestra are one example of the quality of musicians to be found performing at the festival. Also on the White Acacia programme there are music interpretation evenings organized and funded by the Odessa City Council.
